Dear Reader,
Happy Holidays to everyone!
Since the Spring, I've been working to fill each month
with new collage locations, events and unique
opportunities. I first wanted to tell you about my
last event of the season, the
Downtown Holiday Market
starting Friday, December 2nd through Friday, December
23rd. Building on the last 4 years of success with
this event, this year I have elected to do all 22
days. Yes, I'm prepared with heated gloves and
insoles, ha! I will also keep warm by riding my "Art Trike"
every day to the event, where it will be incorporated
into my full display.
To give thanks for your continued customer support, I will offer
two ways to save on Photo Collages this year for the
holidays.
First, a Free Shipping Weekend from Black Friday,
November 25 thru Cyber Monday, November 28. Just
enter THANKYOU11 when checking out on my Online
Store. Second, for those who visit me at the
Downtown Holiday Market, a special Photo Collage Coupon.
My inaugural year of the "Art Trike," DC's first
mobile art bike business, has been awesome.
Business started off outside centerfield gate at the
Nats Baseball Stadium, a 6 mile round trip haul from
my home. My first sale was to the Washington Redskins
for a custom
collage of FedEx Stadium, you can see the vantage point
below. I also pedaled to a weekly lunch-time summer
concert series within
NoMa BID,
a weekly Farmers Market in Columbia Heights, and to the
17th Street Festival. The Art Trike was also well-liked at "Bike to Work Day" on Freedom Plaza sponsored
by Washington Area Bicycle Association (WABA) where my
Room to Breathe custom collage of 50 cycles was
unveiled. I've recently been asked to be in a
documentary on Cargo Bikes in the United States.
I have continued working with the University of Maryland Alumni
Center and have several scenes underway and hope they
might be sold in the Campus Bookstore next year. In late August, an article on my work was published on
Thrillist.com, and I received over 1,200 visitors to my
Online Store in 4 hours. I was pretty busy filling orders
which was great!
In late September, I gave a photo collage lecture to a Marymount University freshman class
called "Photography as Inquiry," which is based on observing DC by
photography and writing.
This year, I have released
11 collages and added two cities: New Orleans and Baltimore.
I've added to my sports collection by completing two views of the Washington Redskins
and the Undefeated Caps game against
the Detroit Redwings in which I was 7 rows from the
glass. For 2012, I'm already planning to finish
these in process scenes: Virginia Tech, University of
Virginia, a view over the
National Mall, DC by Pedi cab, and Chinatown. I am
also in the planning stages of trips to San Francisco
and Boston for the Red Sox game.
Thanks for your support!
